Pushing Forward a Green Recovery: the Private Sector Perspective
Green Recovery Webinar Series #2

In addition to the horrific loss of life resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic, there have also been enormous economic costs. Now there are trillions of dollars on the table to kick-start the world's economy. We have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to use these stimulus packages to incentivise a more sustainable, fair and green economic model: one that puts nature at its heart.

Through our Green Recovery Webinar Series, BirdLife International convenes high-profile guests to explore how society can build back better. Following the success of our first webinar, we will now discuss the possibility of a Green Recovery from the private sector’s perspective.

What's the business case for a Green Recovery? How did ESG investment fare under the COVID crisis? How can the private sector help push for action on biodiversity and ecosystems as well as renewable energy?

We have secured three leaders from the finance, research and biotechnology, and retail sectors in Asia, Europe and North America who will enlighten us on the opportunities and challenges of turning the COVID crisis into the starting point for a greener future.

With talks from:
- Kathleen McLaughlin (Executive Vice President and Chief Sustainability Officer, Walmart Inc; President, Walmart Foundation)
- Piyush Gupta (Chief Executive Officer and Director of DBS Group)
- André Hoffmann (Vice Chairman of Roche Holding & President of Fondation MAVA and of Fondation Tour du Valat)
- Nicole Schwab (Co-Director, Platform to Accelerate Nature-based Solutions, World Economic Forum)
Followed by an interactive Q&A discussion.
Hosted by BirdLife CEO, Patricia Zurita.

We look forward to you engaging in this daring discussion on 30 July 2020 at 12.30 BST.
